Clays

All of our clays are rated for cone 6. We can get others clays for you. There is a minimum order of 5 boxes and it must be pre paid.
Light brown, speckled and buff $22.95.
Dark Brown $24.95.

Light Brown

Fires to an oatmeal coler. Equally good for throwing or handbuilding. Smooth, tight body has fine grog in it. We use this clay for Raku a lot with good results.

Speckled Brown

Same clay body as the light brown. it has granular maganese dioxide wich gives an "iron spot" effect associated with gas reduction fires. Can be very effective for earthy looking pottery.

Dark brown

This clay fires to a beautiful dark brown color. It has fine to medium grog in it so it is good for throwing and handbuilding. This clay gives beautiful results with antiquing technique and when you want to leave parts or all of the piece unglazed. Costs a little more but it's well worth it.

Buff

A little groggier than the other clays fires almost white glazes really "pop" with this clay. Also works well with primitive firing techniques like raku and saggar.

White Stoneware

While this is a stoneware it is a very smouth and creamy body. I t has a lot of porcelain like qualities. It fires pure white and has no grug in it. Great for throwing, also good for handbuilding small to med pieces.

Porcelain

This is a grolleg porcelain and is translucent when thin. It is a good reliable porcelain.
