Section
The Mudpit carries a wide array of clays, chemicals, tools, glazes etc. We are open 7 days a week including most holidays and are open late nights. When you need something off hours or in a hurry we are the place to come to!
CLAYS
Earthenware
White - pure white body good for throwing & hand building.
Red - warm brick red at cone 04 brownish red at cone 02 excellent for all forming methods, works great with majolica.
Stoneware
Light Brown - very tight throwing body, hand builds equally well.
Speckled Brown - the addition of granular manganese gives this clay a "faux reduction" look.
Electric Brown - dark brown body excellent for hand building, throws well, just a little toothy.
White Stoneware - very fine porcelaneous stoneware tight white body at cone 6 can fire to cone 8. Creamy smooth throwing body add grog for hand building.
Porcelain
a cone 6 porcelain made with english china clay. This clay is very tight, snow white and translucent when thin.
Air Dry Clay
a clay like substance that can be baked in any oven. Great for making jewelry!
Sculpey - fleshtone in one pound packs
Cernit - all colors in two ounces packs.
Both are not for food or drink
Glazes & Underglazes
We carry Duncan, Mayco and Gare glazes and underglazes. We also carry our own line of studio glazes for cones 04 and 6.
Custom glazes can be mixed dry or wet for any temperature.
Slips & Engobes
Made for all temperatures they can be purchased dry or premixed. All premixed colors come in four ounce or pint jars. Dry mix comes in one or five pound packages. Contact us for larger amounts and color samples.
Chemicals
We have a fully stocked chemical supply when you need small amounts in a pinch! Everything from Alumina to Zinc.
Tools
We carry a wide selection of Kemper tools.
Accessories
The Mudpit carries a large selection of finishing accessories such as - honey dippers, wind chimes, corks, clock works, fountain pumps, tea pot handles, oil lamp accessories, all electrical components for wiring lamps, etc.
Acrylic Paints
A rainbow of colors including metallic paints and glitter paints. All paints come in two ounce squeeze bottles and two ounce jars.
Brushes
Everything from fat glaze brushes to fine detail liners.
